Brake Master Cylinder

The old cylinder had been leaking and had destroyed the paint work on the inner fender.

One of the high pressure steel lines had completely seized against the cylinder and thus will have to be discarded with the old cylinder.

The old brake master cylinder is being replaced by a remanufactured Beck Arnely master cylinder that I purchased on ebay for $135 inc. shipping. A new set of high pressure lines are on its way, from our fellow Jag-Lover Mr. David Boger from EveryDay XJ

As shown in the photos. the old cylinder had white moulded plugs/pipes that accepted the hoses from the brake fluid reservoir. The replacement does not. Instead there seems to be small black plastic rings.

After further investigation, I realised that the plastic rings are meant to be squeezed into the holes in the new cylinder and the white moulded plugs on the old cylinder are meant to be removed and squished into the black plastic rings.
